    COLLAGE ART & STICKER MADNESS

This began with an art journal and a bunch of pictures. I wanted to fill a journal with as much magic as I could. So, I indulged myself in free flow collage creativity, which has no boundaries other than what we impose, and which I’ve enjoyed doing for years.  In this case, it was a welcome change from doing large portraits.  Portraits are a commitment, and I needed a break.  The challenge was staying within the journal’s size.  It was fun!

Soon thereafter, I got into stickers and the art journal took on new definition.  Stickers are inspiring in their own way, and an artist can build a whole piece around one sticker that speaks out to them. I graduated quickly to cards and bookmarks, the next logical step, and made a limited Spring series that can viewed here.  After cardmaking (which is very much like scrapbooking), individual pieces of art seemed the best way to express myself creatively through collage!

View the new Collage Art & Sticker Madness gallery to see individual thematic works of art that are made from stickers and are suitable for framing.  The matte is part of the piece (which I think looks really cool), and each is signed and titled by the artist.

    This is my latest joy!

     Love,

    D~
